The Pipeline Builder: a podcast that turns guests into pipeline
A Pipeline Builder is a B2B podcast where the guest list is the strategy. You choose the companies you want to talk to, and the show gives each of them a reason to say yes.
What a Pipeline Builder is
Most company podcasts are built to be listened to. A Pipeline Builder is built to be recorded. The audience matters, but the real value is in the room: an hour with a buyer you would otherwise be emailing cold.
The format is simple. You decide which accounts you want in conversation, work out the question each one is best placed to answer, and invite them on as guests. The recording gives you a warm reason to follow up, an episode the guest is usually glad to share, and a relationship that started with them being the expert rather than you pitching.
Who it suits
It suits companies with a defined list of target accounts, a sales cycle long enough for relationships to matter, and a senior person who is comfortable asking good questions. It works best where the buyer is hard to reach by ads or email: senior people at larger companies, or specialists who ignore anything that looks like marketing.
It is a weaker fit if you sell to a very wide market, or if what you want is mass reach rather than a few hundred specific conversations.
What it takes to run
Three things decide whether a Pipeline Builder is realistic for you.
- The host. Someone who can run an interview and knows the market well enough to ask what the guest is actually thinking about. Often a founder, CEO or senior commercial lead.
- Their time. About an hour per episode. Most hosts block one morning a fortnight and record two episodes back to back, while we book, research and brief the guests.
- The budget. Fame's plans start from $2,750 a month for one episode a month, $3,500 for two and $4,500 for four. The details are on our pricing page.
A real example: YellowBird
YellowBird, a technology company in the risk management and EHS space, launched The Canary Report with Fame in September 2025, hosted by its CEO. The aim was a credible, human way to build trust with high-value prospects.
Roughly 20% of its guests have become paying customers, and closed deals alone returned 3.5x ROI in the first six months. The show has also turned listeners into customers, with prospects naming specific episodes as the reason they reached out.
Questions about this show type
No. Its value depends on who the guests are, not on download numbers. A small audience of the right people, plus a recording with each guest, can pay for itself.
