Best AI visibility tools in 2026: Profound, Peec, Scrunch, Otterly and Rankscale compared

By Fame Team

Key Takeaways

  • Entry prices range from $17 a month (Rankscale, yearly) to custom-only (Profound beyond its free trial).
  • Engine coverage is the trap: Claude and Perplexity are add-ons or higher-tier options on some plans.
  • Prompts, answers and credits are not comparable units, so work out your own monthly volume first.
  • A tool shows the gap but does not close it. Fame sells a managed service, so it has an interest in saying that.

What is the best AI visibility tool in 2026?

Otterly is the best low-cost starting point, Peec suits SEO teams wanting simple daily tracking, Scrunch offers the most custom prompts per dollar, Rankscale has the widest engine list and Profound fits enterprises. Rankscale starts at $17 a month, Otterly at $29, Peec at $95, Scrunch at $300, and Profound is custom-priced after a free trial.

Disclosure: Fame publishes this comparison. Fame does not sell software, but it does sell Fame Search, a managed service that includes AI visibility tracking, so it competes with the choice to buy a tool and do the work yourself. Fame is covered last, as an alternative to a tool. All prices come from each vendor's pricing page, checked November 3, 2026.

Otterly's page shows two unlabeled price sets alongside a 15% annual discount toggle. We read $29, $189 and $489 as monthly billing and $25, $160 and $422 as annual, so confirm at checkout.

How do the five tools differ?

Otterly

Otterly has the lowest barrier among tools with monthly billing. Lite includes daily tracking, sentiment and citation tracking with unlimited team members. Standard adds API access, Agent Analytics and 5,000 URL audits a month, and Premium is aimed at mid-sized companies and agencies with 400 prompts.

Watch the add-ons. Gemini and Google AI Mode cost $59 each on Standard, and Claude costs $109. If you need all three, Standard rises from $189 to $416 a month.

Who it is not for: teams needing many engines out of the box, since add-ons narrow the price gap with broader tools. Lite's 15 prompts is too few for any serious panel.

Rankscale

Rankscale, based in Vienna, names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Copilot, DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok among its 17+ engines. It uses credits, typically 0.25 per engine per prompt, and allows hourly to monthly schedules. It lists Pro at $84 and Growth, aimed at agencies, at $327.

Credits reward careful planning. Fifty prompts on four engines every day comes to about 6,000 answers a month, more than Pro's 4,800, so that schedule needs Pro+ at $195. Run weekly, the same panel costs far less.

Who it is not for: teams who dislike credit math. Essentials also lacks sentiment analysis, data exports and the REST API.

Peec

Peec is the simplest to reason about: daily tracking, with prompts multiplied by active models and days. Starter's 50 prompts on 3 models across 30 days equals its 4,500 answers. API access starts at Pro, and agent credits are included on every plan.

The catch is engines. Below Enterprise, you can have only 3 of ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver active at once. The pricing page lists Perplexity and Claude under Enterprise.

Who it is not for: B2B teams who must track Perplexity or Claude without paying for a custom plan.

Scrunch

Scrunch covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI and Meta on all plans. Starter includes 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, 3 personas and 3 user licenses, with a 7-day trial and no credit card. Growth adds strategy reviews but requires a demo.

It gives you the largest custom prompt allowance at this level, with engine coverage included. Going over limits does not block you; the team contacts you about options.

Who it is not for: solo marketers and small budgets. Its entry price is ten times Otterly Lite, and it allows only 5 page audits on Starter.

Profound

Profound sells to companies running AI search work at scale. Enterprise offers daily tracking on up to 9 answer engines, SSO and SOC 2, API exports, agents and support options up to a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA. Price is custom, and an Agency Growth self-serve plan is mentioned without details.

The free trial gives 50 prompts for 7 days on three engines. You cannot customize trial prompts, which limits how far it tests your own buyer questions.

Who it is not for: small and midsize teams that want a public price and self-serve setup, and anyone who wants to test custom prompts before talking to sales.

Which tool fits which team?

  • One marketer testing the idea: Otterly Lite or Rankscale Essentials. Our free AI visibility checker is an even cheaper first step.
  • B2B team tracking the big four assistants: price Scrunch Starter against Rankscale Pro+ and Otterly Standard with add-ons.
  • SEO team happy with Google-heavy and ChatGPT tracking: Peec Starter or Pro.
  • Agency: Rankscale Growth, Otterly's partner program, or the agency plans Peec, Scrunch and Profound mention.
  • Enterprise with security review: Profound, or the Enterprise tiers of Scrunch and Peec.

Before buying, count your need. Multiply prompts by engines by runs per month. A share of answers calculator can help you turn results into a number your team can track. Weekly tracking is often enough for a small panel, and it sharply reduces volume on credit-based plans.

Do you need a tool or a service?

A tool measures. Someone still has to fix pages, write new ones and earn mentions. If you have that person, a tool at $100 to $500 a month is the cheaper route, and it is the honest recommendation for many teams.

Fame (managed service, not a tool)

Fame Search is $2,000 a month and bundles weekly tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini with one action on your site each day, up to 10 pages a month, plus competitor watch and outreach drafts. Reporting arrives by weekly email and a portal Search tab.

On its own site, from June 1 to an October 30, 2026 snapshot, Fame reports that 38-76% of tracked AI answers cite fame.so and 1,416 of 1,610 pages grade A. Those are self-reported numbers for Fame's own site, and it has no client results for this service yet.

Who it is not for: teams that have in-house SEO capacity and only need data, or that need daily tracking. Fame tracks weekly, while the tools above offer daily or faster schedules. Contract terms are not published.

How did we compare these tools?

We read each tool's public pricing page on November 3, 2026, plus Rankscale's homepage for its named engine list. We compared list price, volume, engines and limits. We did not sign up for or run the tools, so this piece does not rate accuracy or data quality, which matter a lot and which you should test in a trial. The volume calculations are our own arithmetic from the published limits, and all prices can change. Fame sells a service that competes with buying a tool, so treat our framing with that in mind.
