Andre Keartland is the Solutions Architect in the Inobits Consulting Division of Netsurit
He has been working professionally in the IT industry for almost 30 years, during which time he has performed almost every imaginable IT job description. Since 2000 he has been a consultant and architect at Inobits Consulting, which merged into Netsurit in 2016. There he has participated in or led major projects on five continents.
As a solutions architect, his role is to design and implement solutions for enterprise customers. Although he tried very hard to be technology agnostic, he has become recognised as an authority on the Microsoft solution stack. He implemented a wide range of the Microsoft on-premises products and solutions, but in the past decade he has increasingly focused on cloud solutions, including Azure and Microsoft 365, especially in the field of hybrid cloud security.

Most development teams try to mitigate risks by implementing security features after the deployment. That creates opportunities for bad actors to inject malicious code early in the development process and, as a result, the post-deployment security layers don’t offer any protection. Attackers can then gain backdoor access and attack the whole supply chain.
On your podcast, Andre can talk about why development teams must shift left and incorporate security features early in the development and deployment process. With Development and Deployment components already being merged into DevOps, he’ll share the specific tools and processes your listeners can use to get familiar with this topic before it’s too late.
With the DevSecOps market being valued at $5.9 billion by 2023, it’s clear that introducing security components early in the process is not a “nice-to-have” anymore. But when it comes to actually implementing DevSecOps, most development teams simply don’t know where to start. And the longer they wait to make the shift, the higher the risks.
On your podcast, Andre will share 4 key tactical steps to implement DevSecOps in 2023. Your listeners will learn why they must switch from manual development and deployment process to DevOps; how to implement security components like code-scanning inside repositories; how and when to create policies and turn them into processes and procedures; and — last but not least — how to handle the ‘People’ component.
Every year, Microsoft spends over $2B on developing and buying security products. As a result, they offer the most competitive security solutions on the market. Compared to buying each solution (like firewall and antivirus) separately, Microsoft’s biggest advantage is their stack-wide integration. But are their solutions suitable for all companies at all stages?
On your podcast, Andre will explain how and when it’s the right time to use what. He’ll explain that no matter how good the tool is, it will never solve all your challenges as the ‘Processes’ and the ‘People’ components are equally important. Your listeners will gain clarity and become equipped with the relevant insights to make informed security decisions.
