Fame B2B Podcasting Tip 001 - Sneaky Promotion

By Tom Hunt, Founder & CEO, Fame

Key Takeaways

  • Marking down and linking to resources and people mentioned in episodes in the show notes can lead to increased engagement and more downloads.
  • Reaching out to the mentioned resource and person after the episode will often result in them listening to the episode, subscribing, and more.
  • Socially tagging resources and people mentioned can generate likes, comments, and shares, further increasing engagement with the podcast.

Podcast promotion is a challenge for all podcasters - "how do I get more downloads?"

Well, here is a little hack we run for our clients...

9 times out of 10, your guest will mention a resource or other person in an episode...

馃憠 Make sure you mark this down and link to the resource and person in your show notes
馃憠 Make sure you reach out to the resource and person to inform them that they have been mentioned
馃憠 Make sure you tag each resource and person on social when you share

This will guarantee more downloads as the resource/person mentioned will listen (and ideally subscribe) but will also ensure you get more engagement on social as they will also like/comment and even share your social posts about the episode!

It's a short and simple one... but if you embed this into your podcast process - it will get you more downloads ;)
