Filming at Olympia London
The short answer
To film at Olympia London, get clearance from the show organiser, then pre-book any vehicle through Voyage Control for a Blythe Road slot. Stand power comes through the show's electrical contractor. Fame Crew can supply a vetted local videographer or photographer who plans around your show's exhibitor manual.

What to know before you film at Olympia London
Start with the show's rules
Filming conditions at Olympia are usually set out by the organiser of the event you are attending, so the show's exhibitor manual is the first document to read. The manuals of recent shows at the venue show how much terms can vary.
London Build's 2023 manual let exhibitors bring their own photographers, but only to photograph their own stand, and asked them to tell the marketing team first. Photographers could not solicit other stand holders, shoot show features or general areas of other stands, or sell their work at the show, and the organiser could remove anyone who broke the rule.
London Tech Week's manual takes a different angle: it warns that recordings, video and photographs are taken during the event and that entering means accepting this. If your brief includes people who have not agreed to appear on camera, check how the show handles consent.
Vehicle booking and Blythe Road
Vehicle access is the most tightly run part of working here. Any vehicle servicing an event must book through Voyage Control, and bookings usually open 30 days before the event begins.
- One booking per vehicle per day, with no consecutive slots.
- Vehicle type and registration must match the booking, or entry may be refused.
- Early or late arrivals may be turned away, and loading should finish within the slot.
- Maximum vehicle height is 4.4 metres.
- Enter via Blythe Road from Hammersmith Road; Olympia recommends approaching from the Hammersmith direction.
- Print the pass and display it inside the vehicle, and follow traffic staff instructions.
- Pre-book parking online if you need to stay beyond the slot.
Power and contractors
Electrics run through whichever contractor the show appoints. For London Tech Week that is Creative Live, which also asks to be told if power is needed during build and dismantle or for 24 hours during the event. For the British Orthopaedic Association's 2026 congress it is Index Group, whose staff alone may install or alter electrical fittings; orders placed on site carry a 20% surcharge.
The same congress manual gives a useful warning for video work. A shell scheme stand includes one 500W socket and three spotlights, intended for domestic items. Several screens, appliances or lights may overload the circuit and cut the stand's power, so order extra supply if a crew is lighting interviews or charging equipment there.
Deliveries
Kit sent ahead needs a person to receive it. The congress manual says neither organisers nor venue can sign on your behalf, that deliveries outside the stated dates will be turned away, and that movement to or from stands during open hours generally needs permission. London Tech Week routes all deliveries through its handling agent, CLS, so check which model your show uses.
Shows and getting there
Events at the venue include London Tech Week, Top Drawer, MPTS and the British Orthopaedic Association's annual congress, with the calendar also listing The Finance Professional Show and the World Ports Conference. Kensington (Olympia) station is next to the site, which suits a crew travelling light. The venue is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, so check any vehicle before it sets off.
Booking a crew
Fame Crew can source a local videographer or photographer for a stand, session or interview here. Send the exhibitor manual with your brief, along with your stand number and any Voyage Control deadline. That lets the crew decide early whether to travel by train with a small kit or book a vehicle slot.
Rules change, so confirm them before you shoot. Sources:
