Venue guide

Filming at Marina Bay Sands Expo

The short answer

Filming at Sands Expo in Marina Bay Sands starts with your event's organiser, while the venue's logistics rules cover vehicles, power and rigging. Goods vehicles need an entry permit, and electrics must go through official contractors. Fame Crew can supply a vetted Singapore videographer or photographer briefed against your exhibitor manual.

What to know before you film at Marina Bay Sands Expo

Permission and paperwork

Ask your event organiser for its photography and filming terms, which should be set out in the exhibitor manual, and find out whether they need you to submit a form. Mention whether you are recording sessions, interviews or only your stand, and who will be holding the camera. If your request involves anything outside the event's licensed space, ask the organiser to raise it with the venue's event team on your behalf.

The Business Show Asia's 2026 regulations include an important line for anyone comparing documents: where a show's rules conflict with those of the venue, Marina Bay Sands requirements prevail.

Vehicles and the loading bay

The most detailed public logistics information comes from the ISAPS Singapore 2025 exhibitor manual. Only goods or commercial vehicles can enter the site, so a crew's SUV or people carrier will not be allowed in the loading area. That has a real effect on how a small crew moves kit.

  • Vehicle entry permits are applied for online, and only within seven days of the actual entry date.
  • Non-official stand builders and contractors must supply company, contact, event, vehicle and timing details.
  • Print a Loading and Unloading Pass and place it on the dashboard.
  • The first 45 minutes are free, followed by $8.56 for the next 15 minutes and $10.70 per 30-minute block, up to $27.82 per 24 hours.
  • Maximum bay height is 4.2 metres, and the on-site speed limit is 15 km/h.
  • No overnight parking is allowed at the loading docks.

Moving kit inside

Only the official freight forwarder may operate mechanical lifting or handling equipment in the hall. Escalators and passenger lifts are for passengers, and taking dollies, luggage, boxes or freight on a running escalator is strictly prohibited. Freight lifts must be used. For the Level 4 ballroom in the ISAPS manual, the freight lift measures 3.2 metres wide, 6 metres deep and 4 metres high. Delivery staff and contractors must also dress properly, and slippers are specifically ruled out.

Room limits matter if you plan a set. The same ballroom had a floor strength of 5 kN per square metre and lower limits under its chandeliers. Ask your organiser for the plan for your room or hall, as those numbers apply to that space only.

Electrics and rigging

The Business Show Asia requires all electrical work to be done by its official contractor, using a licensed electrician recognised by Singapore's Energy Market Authority. Temporary connections or alterations by exhibitors, contractors or third-party suppliers are prohibited, and the organiser and venue can cut power to unauthorised or unsafe setups.

Equipment brought in should comply with Singapore Standards SS 145 and SS 531 and, where applicable, carry the Safety Mark. Loose cables on the floor must be protected, and all power needs must be declared in advance. Foreign chargers and extension leads are worth checking before you pack. Suspended items must go through authorised venue-appointed contractors, which rules out quickly clamping a light overhead.

Events and working with a crew

The Business Show Asia and the ISAPS congress are two recent examples of events published for this venue. Each names its own contractors, so the names above may differ from those on your event.

Fame Crew can source a vetted local videographer or photographer in Singapore. A locally based crew can avoid some of the issues with foreign electrical kit and vehicle access. Send your exhibitor manual and service forms, and we will build the kit list around them.
