Venue guide
Filming at Las Vegas Convention Center
The short answer
Filming at the Las Vegas Convention Center usually needs the show's approval, often a video permit, and sometimes contractor registration for your crew. Rules differ by show, including on drones. Fame Crew can supply a vetted local Las Vegas videographer or photographer briefed against your show's exhibitor kit and deadlines.

What to know before you film at Las Vegas Convention Center
The show sets the camera rules
The venue's Building Users Manual asks workers to get permission before photographing or filming individuals or property and to respect event rules. Beyond that, the working detail is left to each show, and two of the largest here show the range.
At the SEMA Show and AAPEX, every video crew member must wear a permit issued by the show, requests have to be made in writing before the show, and commercial and marketing requests are reviewed case by case. Filming a booth or product needs the exhibitor's permission. Crews may not shoot exhibitors or speakers for sponsorship or advertising purposes or charge for placement, and crew without a permit will be removed.
Treat your crew as a contractor
CONEXPO-CON/AGG's 2026 rules define Exhibitor Appointed Contractors to include firms needing access to an exhibitor's space, and name photographers and audiovisual firms. That brings registration, a contractor agreement and insurance paperwork with deadlines well before the show. Read your own show's kit for the equivalent section as soon as you book, and ask whether your photographer or videographer needs to be registered.
Drones: the venue and shows differ
This is one area where a venue document and a show can point in different directions. The manual allows indoor or outdoor use under strict conditions, but SEMA prohibits drones at its show, citing FAA rules near Harry Reid International Airport, and says they will be confiscated until the show closes. Assume nothing until the show has answered in writing.
- Show management approval and a completed drone form.
- Compliance with all FAA requirements for the operator.
- Under 55 pounds, and restricted to the defined booth space.
- A fully enclosed flying area including the ceiling, as tethering is not an approved safety measure.
- CONEXPO's rules add a distance of 18 inches from any building structure, and separate venue approval.
Hand-carry and moving kit
Under the venue's hand-carry policy, exhibitors may carry their own materials to the exhibit space without material-handling equipment, and the work must be done by full-time employees of the exhibiting company who can show proof of employment. Unloading takes place from parking lots only, in vehicles no larger than a pickup or passenger van. Anything larger uses the show contractor, and vehicles left on LVCC roadways can be towed.
Escalators are off limits for dollies, oversized luggage and tool boxes, and freight is not allowed on passenger lifts. Since a freelance crew is not exhibitor staff, ask your show contractor how its equipment should come in.
Connectivity and power
Cox Business is the exclusive telecommunications provider for internet, voice and cable TV and holds the rights to all cable runs, so a live stream needs to be planned with its team. No one may alter LVCVA electrical equipment. Your exhibitor kit names who supplies booth power and gives the ordering deadlines.
Before you book
SEMA, AAPEX and CONEXPO-CON/AGG are among the shows that use the centre, and each publishes its own rules. Collect the exhibitor kit first, then check the deadlines for contractor registration, insurance and permits. Crew members may also need ESCA identification, a badge programme in which the venue participates.
