Filming at Fira Barcelona
The short answer
At Fira Barcelona, exhibitors may photograph their own stands, but a hired photographer must request authorisation from the event management team and report to the Hall Services Manager. Out-of-hours work and drones need more approval. Fame Crew can supply a vetted Barcelona videographer or photographer familiar with working within these conditions.

What to know before you film at Fira Barcelona
What the Technical Regulations say
Fira's Technical Regulations include a section on photographic and audiovisual recordings for events it organises. Each exhibitor has the right to photograph its own stand and articles, but the photographer must first request authorisation from the relevant event management team. The authorised photographer then presents themselves to the Hall Services Manager and may photograph only that exhibitor's stand and articles.
Individual shows can publish their own rules as well, so check the exhibitor manual for your show, even if it refers back to Fira's document.
Shooting outside opening hours
Filming an empty stand is often the best way to get clean footage, and Fira has a process for it. Photographs outside event hours need prior authorisation from Fira. If lighting has to be turned on, Fira's authorised electrician must be present, and the exhibitor pays the costs.
SIL Barcelona's 2026 regulations say much the same, directing out-of-hours requests to Fira's Services and Security Department. They also state that products on display may not be photographed without the permission of the exhibitor concerned. They prohibit capturing or disseminating images of minors without documented authorisation from their legal representative.
Drones
Fira allows drones on notice, but the conditions are specific. It must be told in advance so that it can approve the flight.
- The drone must weigh less than 2 kg.
- Provide a technical data sheet with a photograph, and a signed statement of responsibility.
- Display a visible notice if the drone records images.
- Hold civil liability cover of at least 300,000 euros.
- Install a net around the stand or flight area, in halls and outdoors, even when using a restraint cord.
Power, rigging and materials
All electrical energy supplied to stands comes from Fira, at 400 V between phases and 230 V between phase and neutral. Any different supply needs prior authorisation and is charged to the exhibitor. Equipment that is sensitive to power cuts is the responsibility of its installer, so a crew recording to computers or running a stream should bring protection for its kit.
Rigging points are an exclusive service provided through Fira's official supplier, and hanging anything directly from hall ceilings is prohibited. The maximum hanging weight is 15 kg per square metre of hired stand area, with at least one metre between anchor points. If you want overhead cameras or lights, build them into the stand's rigging request rather than adding them on site.
Load-in
Fira sets entry guidelines and time limits for vehicles for each event. Goods must be clearly labelled with venue, hall, stand number and exhibiting company, and must be received by the exhibitor's authorised people, as Fira accepts no responsibility for receiving them. Fira also offers a photography service through its sales channel, Servifira.
Two sites and many shows
Confirm which site you are going to. Gran Via hosts events such as MWC Barcelona, ISE, Smart City Expo World Congress, IBTM World, Shoptalk Europe, Vitafoods Europe, In-cosmetics Global and SIL Barcelona. Montjuic hosts shows such as Barcelona Wine Week and Talent Arena.
Fame Crew can match a local videographer or photographer for either site. Send the event name, hall and stand number with your brief, and tell us if you want footage outside opening hours, since that needs both approval and extra budget.
Rules change, so confirm them before you shoot. Sources:
