The short answer
Fame Crew is a managed network of local videographers and photographers who shoot conferences, trade shows, interviews, podcasts, headshots and corporate work for businesses. Fame finds the client, writes the brief and manages the job, and you do the shooting in your own city. Apply through the Fame Crew application form.

How it works for crew
What Fame Crew is
Fame Crew connects companies that need video or photography with vetted professionals who already live where the shoot is happening. Clients are not picking from a marketplace or bidding freelancers against each other. They hire Fame, and Fame stays accountable for what comes back.
For you, this means a different working arrangement from a job board. A production manager is the client's main contact, and a written brief sets out what the client wants before you arrive. The brief is part of how Fame keeps standards consistent. You still bring the craft and the judgement on the day, and the client's portfolio approval and pre-shoot call mean they know who is coming.
The work
Most Fame Crew jobs are business-to-business. The specifics differ from one city to another, but here is the kind of work the service sells to clients:
- Conferences and summits: keynotes, panels, breakouts and recap material.
- Trade shows: stands, product demos, interviews and customer reactions.
- Corporate video: customer stories, leadership messages, office and facility films.
- Podcasts: multi-camera recording in offices, studios or at events.
- Event photography: speakers, audiences, sponsors and the moments in between.
- Headshots: consistent team sets at an office or a station at an event.
- Corporate photography: people, workplaces and products for a brand library.
Who it suits
We look beyond your showreel, at how you behave in front of clients. The people who do well here have experience of corporate or B2B settings. They know how to dress, how to speak to a CEO and when to be invisible. A conference room full of executives is a different environment from a wedding, and the qualities that make a shooter great at one do not automatically transfer.
It suits people who take audio as seriously as image, because a beautiful interview with bad sound is unusable. It also suits people who treat the brief as a promise and communicate early when something changes. Specialists are welcome: plenty of the photographers in the network do nothing but stills. Hybrid shooters are useful too, because some clients want one person to cover photo and video on smaller jobs. If you are a licensed drone operator, tell us, as clients sometimes ask for aerial work.
What clients expect from you
Fame makes clear promises to its clients, and the crew are the ones who keep them on the day. Knowing what those promises are will tell you whether Fame Crew is right for you.
- Follow the shot list. Clients name the moments that matter, and those go in the brief.
- Show up prepared, with reliable equipment and clean audio.
- Be willing to sign NDAs, since some shoots involve confidential material.
- Hold the liability insurance that venues may need. Clients can ask for a Certificate of Insurance.
- Be comfortable working around stage crews and AV teams.
- Deliver files so edited assets and handovers can meet the agreed deadlines.
- Tell your production manager as soon as you cannot make a shoot, so that a replacement can step in.
Why shooters join a managed network
Plenty of good freelancers would rather spend their time shooting than searching for clients, sending invoices to unfamiliar companies and going back and forth on vague briefs. Fame takes on the client relationship and the logistics. You also have someone to talk to when a job gets complicated, and a brief that gives you a clear target. The network supports you too: if illness or an emergency stops you from attending, you are not expected to solve it alone, because another local crew member can step in.
Working with Fame also gives you exposure to corporate shoots across a range of formats, from a short interview to multi-day event coverage. Availability of work depends on your city, your skills and what clients are asking for, so we cannot promise a particular volume of jobs.

A strong application usually makes these things easy to see:
- The city you live in and the area you can reasonably cover.
- Whether you shoot video, photography or both.
- A portfolio with business work near the top: events, interviews, headshots or corporate shoots.
- The equipment you own, including audio and lighting.
- Any drone licence or specialist skills.
