Meet Taso Arima. As the Managing Director and CEO of IperionX, he shares the success lessons from building two multi-billion-dollar companies and now, growing a third.
Anastasios “Taso” Arima is the Founder and CEO of IperionX, a leader in developing U.S.-based sustainable critical mineral and critical material supply chains.
He attended the University of Western Australia where he studied for a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Engineering.
He is currently the Managing Director and CEO of IperionX (ASX:IPX), a metals technology company focused on creating an All-American, sustainable, low-cost, low-carbon Titanium supply chain.
Prior to this, Mr. Arima founded Piedmont Lithium (NASDAQ: PLL) and was instrumental in financing and listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Under his leadership, Piedmont Lithium developed into one of the most critical lithium chemical projects in the United States.
Taso was pretty young when he hired his first CEO. He knew whom he wanted, but he also knew he had to make the case as to why he should build this company together. So, he took him for drinks and sold him on the job. When it came time to pay the bill, Taso’s credit card was declined. He had to ask him to pay for the tab. He learned that dreaming big pays off, and to always carry cash.
Mr. Arima was born in Greece and emigrated to Perth. He enjoys Reading, spending time with family and friends, going to restaurants, wine tasting, and water activities.

In a world where only the tech unicorns get all the spotlight, Taso Arima shares how he built two multi-billion dollar companies in the traditional industries. After university, he started in mining finance, eventually founding a coal company in Alberta, Canada. He recognized when he moved to the US, the coal mining industry was on the decline and he grew the company to unicorn status.
On your podcast, Taso can talk about his experience building two billion-dollar companies and share the lessons of success. Specifically, why he started a battery-grade lithium hydroxide producing company, Piedmont Lithium which collaborated with Tesla. He can explain why an experienced management team, who joined him from companies, such as SpaceX and Boeing, followed him to his latest venture at IperionX.
Working in an industry renowned for being bad for the environment, dirty, and expensive, Taso wholeheartedly believes in positive disruption. He believes that entrepreneurs should always look to run toward opportunity, especially when no one else is there. When you disrupt an industry and the result is better for society, that would be a positive disruption.
On your podcast, Taso can talk about foresight, longevity, and positive disruption, as the opposite of putting profit first. Specifically, why entrepreneurs should know when they’re wrong, exceed people’s expectations, and impress. Inevitably, building relationships with them, as they’ll be there to ensure you don’t sink. Taso can share how incredible mentors helped him explore different plausible futures and to take opportunities and overcome challenges to shake up his industry.
